Kent Trading Standards warn on Insulation Cold Callers3.26.04pm GMT Wed 18th Nov 2009 Kent Trading Standards have received reports of traders cold calling consumers offering free grant insulation backed by the Government. Kent Trading Standards advise consumers to be very careful when dealing with traders at their door. Take copies of paperwork, company name and address so that you have the opportunity to look into the details before agreeing to the proposed work under the scheme. To find out if you qualify for a home insulation grant and for further advice and information on the scheme then visit http://www.direct.gov.uk and click on the tabs labelled 'Environment & Greener Living', 'Energy Saving & Generation', and 'Saving Energy at home'. If you need information on your rights as a consumer call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 If you are thinking of having other work done to your property visit www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk to find a trader who has been vetted by Trading Standards.
