A Fault Every Five Minutes in Central Folkestone!

Vandalised bus shelter

Vandalised bus shelter in Castle Hill Avenue

If you spend only five minutes walking around the centre of Folkestone you will find a broken street light, a badly vandalised bus shelter or a damaged zebra crossing light, according to local Lib Dem campaigner Gary Fuller.

During a recent early evening walk in central Folkestone, Gary found twelve faults in around an hour. He reported the faults immediately upon returning home. Gary also found a number of disused street lights which Kent Highways have failed to remove.

The faults included three broken street lights and a badly vandalised bus shelter in Castle Hill Avenue (pictured), which is one of the main routes into the town centre, and also two broken street lights in nearby Manor Road.

Commenting, he said:

"It is unacceptable that a simple five minute walk is enough to find a broken street light, a badly vandalised bus shelter or a damaged zebra crossing light in our town. I've reported all of these faults and I really hope that they act fast to deal with them. Folkestone deserves much better service from Kent Highways and much better than Kent's Conservative Council."
