Intern for Sharon Bowles MEP

Sharon Bowles, Lib Dem MEP for the South East of England, is looking for an enthusiastic, hard working intern to join her constituency Office in Berkhamsted. This is an excellent opportunity to see how an MEP's office works and gain first hand experience of the European Parliament.

Salary £450 per month

There is no travel or lunch subsidy for this position. Instead we will offer a flat rate of £450 per month to cover all expenses (dependent on number of days worked).

Areas of responsibility:

-Monitoring, updating and uploading materials to Sharon's webpages

-Updating press contacts

-Assisting in the organisation and running of events

-Correspondence principally on EU legislation and constituency matters

-Conducting research for the constituency officers

-Other tasks as needed.

Required Skills:

-Excellent standard of written English,

-Excellent IT skills

-Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident and polite telephone manner.

-Knowledge and understanding of the EU desirable

-Driving license desirable.

Must be highly organised with attention to detail and be able to work on own initiative. This job requires flexibility and awareness of EU issues. Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats is required.
