FREE Eastbourne Breaks on offer to Folkestone over-60's7.02.46pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 18th Aug 2008 The National Benevolent Fund for the Aged have announced that Folkestone will be one of the pick-ups points for their Eastbourne 2008 Autumn Break. To qualify for a free break, the applicant must be over 60 years old, on a low income, not had a holiday for at least 3 years, able to get on and off a coach, manage steps & care for themselves. The Eastbourne break runs from 9th - 15th November, with the full NBFA Autumn 2008 programme being:

Each holiday includes coach travel, half board accommodation in a hotel, entertainment and some excursions. NBFA provides six nights accommodation in a quality hotel. Holiday-makers will stay in twin-bedded rooms, with en-suite facilities with either a bath or shower and WC. Rooms are comfortable, with tea making facilities, central heating and colour TV. There is a wide choice of menu at breakfast and for the evening meal. Lib Dem Councillor Tim Prater has welcomed the news that Folkestone was a pick up point for this years NBFA holidays, saying: "The NBFA have given breaks to residents from Folkestone before, and were pleased with the take-up they got then. "I'd really encourage local residents who qualify to apply for a holiday - it's a great chance to get away, make new friends and enjoy a change of scene."
