Darren Briddock: "Hythe West deserve a better deal from their local councillors"

At the Hythe Town Council Meeting on 10 April NOT ONE Hythe West Councillor was present. Two of the councillors, Conservatives Linda and John Oliver, moved to Bath in December but continue to hang onto their seats, despite rarely attending meetings. The other two Conservative Councillors for the ward also gave their apologies for the meeting - meaning that there was NO representation for Hythe West at all.

Hythe resident and Lib Dem campaigner Darren Briddock was at the meeting and was appalled at the lack of representation for Hythe West at the meeting. He said:

"When a full Council meeting lasts just 13 minutes and has NO representation from one of 4 wards in the Town, it's clear something is wrong.

"Hythe West deserve a better deal from their local councillors - starting with the resignation of the 'Bath' Olivers so that two new Councillors for Hythe West can be elected."
