Disabled Parking Space Review Through Shepway12.22.13pm GMT Thu 9th Nov 2006 Kent County Council have published proposals to introduce a number of additional on-street parking facilities across Shepway, and to revoke a few existing spaces. The spaces are for disabled person's vehicles displaying a valid disabled persons badge. Disabled spaces are to be introduced outside the following properties:

Anyone wishing to support these proposals, or object to them, should write to the Highways Engineer, Shepway District Council, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone CT20 2QY or email david.marshall@shepway.gov.uk stating their reasons by no later than 23rd November. Disabled Persons Parking bays can be provided on the public highway for disabled persons who have substantial difficulties in walking and parking within the vicinity of their property. Any person wishing to apply for a bay should be the holder of a current disabled persons badge, be in receipt of the higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance and shall be the driver of the vehicle needing space. Disabled parking badges themselves are currently issued by Kent County Council who can be contacted on 01622 605020.
