Shepway Lib Dems TV Live!2.41.32pm GMT Tue 8th Aug 2006
Shepway Lib Dems are leading the way online locally as one of the first sites to be using TV on their web site. The local Lib Dems have already featured a video introduction from Party leader Ming Campbell on the front page of the web site at www.shepwaylibdems.org.uk, and have just released a presentation from Tom Brake MP, explaining the Lib Dem campaign to replace Council Tax with a Local Income Tax. You can see a range of Lib Dem TV broadcasts at www.shepwaylibdems.org.uk/tv and more are promised in the future, including features on local news and campaigns. Shepway Lib Dem web master Tim Prater said: "The Lib Dems have long been the most 'wired' party locally, and make sure we are keeping in touch with our web site throughout the year - we always try to have a large range of news and updates on our campaigns. We are often the first with local news on-line - for example, we were one of the first sites to report ex-Northampton candidate Damian Collins selection as Tory candidate for Folkestone and Hythe! "However, as the web develops and more people have fast internet connections, we can offer new tools like video and audio broadcasts, giving a much wider range of information. The recent videos from Ming Campbell and Tom Brake are a good start to that, helping to explain the Lib Dem position on a wide range of campaigns".
