Cheriton By-election: Polls Open from 8am - 9pm Thursday1.32.06pm GMT Wed 22nd Mar 2006 The by-election to elect a new Town Councillor for Cheriton is taking place tomorrow. The polls are open from 8am - 9pm. All the signs are that the result will be a close finish between the Conservative candidate and Lib Dem Tim Prater. In a last minute message to Cheriton voters, Tim Prater pledged: "If you elect me as your Councillor, I promise to always put people first, not politics. I will work hard for our area and keep in touch with you all year round. "You may have heard about some of my campaigns for our area, such as fighting the proposed rise in car park charges, and trying to stop lorries parking by Tesco. I will keep up the pressure on these campaigns as your Councillor." The polling stations for the election are:
Voters do not need polling cards to vote on polling day - just to turn up to their polling station.
