Shepway Liberal Democrats

Working for Folkestone, Hythe, Romney Marsh and Elham Valley

An Odd (Fellow) Co-incidence

Written by Tim Prater - Chair, Shepway Liberal Democrats and published in Shepway Update Members Newsletter - November 2006 on Sun 19th Nov 2006

Welcome Home Toby!

Although Toby and I had not met until this year, we did discover some time ago that we had something in common in Folkestone. Toby was brought up in Folkestone, living with his parents who ran the Oddfellows Arms on The Stade, Folkestone.

In 2003, Season and I moved to Folkestone, and ran a pub called The Front on the harbour. The Front had been renovated a few years previously, and was renamed at that time as well - from the Oddfellows Arms! Hence, your new Folkestone and Hythe Lib Dem PPC (Toby), Shepway Lib Dem Local Party Chair (modesty forbids) and Membership Secretary (Season) have all lived in the same place, albeit separated by around 25 years!

Party conspiracy theorists - do your worst...
