Kent Highway Services are planning to footway reconstruction works along the length of Christ Church Road, Folkestone. The works are planned to start on the 8th February 2010 for a period of 3 days, and involve the replacement of the existing footway surface on the north side of Christ Church Road, Folkestone from its junction with Sandgate Road for approximately 65 metres.
Kent Trading Standards have received reports concerning a man who purports to be a policeman contacting businesses by phone. The trader is told that they have been called as they are a trusted trader and that the police are running a magazine highlighting the work of rogue traders and want to include a section on trusted traders.

Cheriton Councillor Tim Prater is looking into the possibility of reinstating a public toilet into Cheriton Rec after a request from a local resident. The resident was pleased about plans to improve Cheriton Rec with new facilities, but raised the issue that with the nearest public toilets being some way away in Somerset Road and having no family facilities, the lack of a toilet in the park could be a public health issue.
Cheriton Councillor Peter Carroll is furious about new Kent plans for Royal Military Avenue, Cheriton. After years of pushing, Kent agreed to consult local residents on 2 schemes in the road, one with oblique "nose in" parking, and another with a chevron down the road to slow traffic.
Local Lib Dems have backed a CUT in Folkestone Town Council's tax for next year. The move will mean local tax payers will pay slightly less for Folkestone Town Council services than last year. The Liberal Democrats have consistently fought for zero tax increases from Folkestone Town Council.
